I am taking a blogging break! Up until an hour ago, I hadn't decided this.

I have technical issues to fix with this blog and I have been putting it off since forever, it is time to Deola up (they say man up, I say Deola up) and fix it. I don't know how long it is going to take but I pray it doesn't take too long. See you all, when I get back x.

MUSINGS| CONNECTING FLIGHT

Happy September loves! I wrote this post while waiting in Amsterdam, I was just writing down my thoughts and I thought to share.

HATS ON!

WEDDING GUEST.

Sometimes, writing the text alongside outfit posts is the hardest thing to do, in those moments, I know I should be doing something else and not typing. I have a lot to do in the next two weeks but I will try to schedule posts in the next couple of days to keep the blog going. This is what I wore to my Uncle's wedding a few days ago, it was a beautiful ceremony and it reaffirmed to me that I want a small wedding.  I wish everyone happiness this week.

SUMMER DENIM

Hey everyone! So I went to the movies with Oroma on Saturday, we saw Step up 5, it was amazing but I think I had too much hope for the movie, it was amazing nonetheless. This is what I wore to see the movie, you can obviously tell that this Zara bag has become my carry all sac. This outfit was actually inspired by the blogger, Grace Alex. I saw that she wore an all denim outfit in Nigeria and I really liked it but I know I will never wear a denim shirt in Nigeria, I won't even own one. So, I thought of a way to wear a denim shirt, without actually wearing it. Tying the shirt around my waist also prevents too much skin on show. Here we have it. Enjoy the rest of your week, Talk soon xx.

CLOSET CLASSICS | BASICS

Hey guys! Happy New Month! Who wears black in the summer? Me. I don't know how or why my love for black started but I just like wearing black. I looked up the colour black and it represents power, sexuality, sophistication, mystery, depth and style. What does that say about me?
I think every woman needs a well fitting tee and skirt in her wardrobe, you can never go wrong with a simple look such as this. August is going to be a very busy month for me and the chances of blogging are very slim.
I actually took these pictures about two weeks ago.
Enjoy x.

T-SHIRT DRESS.

Two words! ZARA SALE! I always say that I am not a big shopper which is mostly true but in the past month, my bank statement has confirmed how much of a lie that is. I might do a post showing the things I bought recently though. This dress not only looks nice, the fabric also feels amazing. I will definitely be wearing it again in the near future. I ended up making very funny faces during this shoot. Have a nice week guys xx.

AROUND THE WEB #1

Hi guys!! Thank you so much to everyone that has reached out to me, after reading my last post. I really appreciate you and I can't thank you enough. God bless you.
While going about my day-to-day life, I read/listen to a lot of inspiring things online because I love being inspired and educated about things I had zero knowledge about. Over the past week, I have watched quite a number of inspiring videos and I wanted to share them with you guys.

1.  YOUNG CEO | SANGU DELLE
The NDANI crew promises to take you inside Africa and they have been doing a commendable job. Their recent YOUNG CEO interview with Sangu Delle struck a cord within me. I want to see more Africans like Mr Sangu Delle. Click here to get a dose of the medicine.

2. TED TALKS | 11 MUST-SEE TED TALKS
I was on the TED website recently and I decided to watch the 11 must-see TED talks. I enjoyed listening to 10 out of 11 talks but I only remember paying attention to 6 out of the 10 that I watched.
Ngozi Chimamanda Adichie talks about THE DANGER OF THE SINGLE STORY
Ken Robinson thinks SCHOOLS KILL CREATIVITY and I completely agree with him.
I particularly enjoyed Amy Cuddy's talk, YOUR BODY LANGUAGE SHAPES WHO YOU ARE because sometimes, I feel like an impostor, like I shouldn't be where I am and she says "Fake it, till you become it"
I will definitely go back to this playlist, in the near future. Watch the full playlist here

3. ANDREA LEWIS | GROWTH COMES WITH CHANGE
Self Love Saturdays are the best on Miss Andrea Lewis' channel. She speaks the truth! The message of the past video was basically "In order to grow, you cannot remain the same". Watch the full video here

Hope you guys like the post and I hope you are inspired by at least one of these brillant people. Talk soon x.

MUSINGS | MOTIONLESS

Would you believe me if I told you that this blog was always on my mind? Me neither. I have so many things to change on this blog and in my life but I can't seem to get to the doing phase of things. I was the same person that said I was going by "JUST DO IT" this year, now I feel like a liar *sad face*. Pray for me guys, pray for me.
At the beginning of this summer, I promised myself and my dad that I was going to spend the summer working on myself, for myself and by myself but it just seems like things keep getting in my way. First, I was looking for a new apartment, then I moved, now I can't seem to settle down here. I feel like everything is going so fast but I am stuck and motionless.
I am going to take active steps to get moving.  Firstly, I need to know what I want to accomplish by September. I need to go back to that list that I made for myself at the beginning of the year and revise it (add and take out things). I definitely know that I don't just want a fashion/personal style blog any more, I want to blog about everything and anything (I will be changing the blog name). I also need to re-read my 2014 post and get back my enthusiasm about life.  I don't feel very good and happy at the moment but I am not going to stay here and be this person. I need to get inspired and moving.
I will probably delete this post tomorrow morning...goodnight folks x

STARS IN THE DARK.

This was my outfit to church yesterday.
God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night.
He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.
- Gen 1:16-17.

CLOSET CLASSICS| SKATER SKIRT.

Hey guys!! It has been a while, hope you are all well and good. This skater skirt is everything! It is easy to layer in the winter and very comfortable for the summer. It is one of my go-to items for uni days. Recently, I find myself constantly looking to buy items like this and the recent sales have been so impressive. I hope to be back with new posts soon enough. Talk soon xx.

NEOPRENE DRESS.

Happy Monday guys!! I hope everyone has had a great start to their week, I sure have. Yesterday was Father's Day and this was my OOTD. Blue is a men's colour, right? It is my dad's favourite colour. This dress is definitely my favourite dress, I love everything about it, from the fabric to the finish and to top it all, it was given to me as a gift! These shoes have been my go-to shoes for the past week, they just go with everything in my wardrobe, definitely a good buy. Have a great week guys! Talk soon xx.

NEW PANTS, NEW HOME.

"Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect"- Unknown.
I have always avoided joggers because I know I could potentially live in them. Oroma has the exact same pair as I am wearing and I always comment on how much I love them, she was in H&M the other day and she found this pair in the sale section so she bought them for me. I love them and I think I have found a new home. I love the comfort of this outfit, comfort is nice. It's Friday guys, you know what to do. Enjoy!

CLOSET CLASSICS| SARONG TROUSERS

Hi guys!! How are you doing? Hope you are all well and your week is going well. I don't know what my life was before I found these trousers but I know that I almost cannot do without them. I already wore them herehere and here. I don't think I can go a month without wearing them.
I am moving houses again and packing up my boxes has been making me give away stuff, things that I haven't worn in the past year or so have been going out the door. This has made me realize that I have some closet classics and there are also things that I have on some wish lists, that are there because I think they are closet classics. I will be sharing these items in my new series, CLOSET CLASSICS.

PINK VELVET PANCAKES

Hi guys! I hope you are all well. I finished my exams last week and I have just been eating my face away, so I decided to share a recipe with you guys. I have pancakes every Saturday for breakfast and I like switching it up from the normal plain pancakes, every now and then. Today, I opted for red velvet pancakes but they turned out pink but still tasted amazing! Enjoy.

MUSIC DAYS | DREAMER GIRL

I love Asa, I really do. I can never get enough of her music, I can't wait for her album that is just a few months away. Dreamer girl is probably my favourite track on the album, Beautiful Imperfection. Sometimes, I am a dreamer girl. Thank you Asa for good music.

RIPPED!

Yes I am wearing black again, when all else fails, I opt for a black ensemble. I really should learn how to plan outfits in advance. I cant explain how these trousers made their way out of my recycling pile but they did and I ripped them and wore them. Maybe if I get that recycling pile out of my house, the clothes wont be making their way back to my wardrobe. Maybe, just maybe. Oh! did I tell you that I got these sunnies on sale in H&M for 1 pound. I know right, the joy of sale!!

I hope everyone has had a lovely week, even if you haven't, look on the bright side, today is Friday! Have a great weekend guys xx.

STRIPED!

Hey guys!! hope you are all well! This is another outfit from a library day, I seem to spend quite a lot of time there these days. On one of my much needed study breaks, I decided to pose for these pictures. This outfit was planned around my new sunglasses (I love them!!) and long study hours. I was not supposed to be holding my snood (circle scarf) but it was so cold, I couldn't let go (I barely managed to take off my jacket). Hope you like this outfit. Talk soon xx.

DEOLANGE.

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I got my hair braided. This outfit wasn't planned in anyway, I was running so late and still couldn't find anything to wear, so I ran with this. I wore almost the same outfit the week before but I had on a black top, a black coat and a beat face. I wanted to show you guys my new hair, like it? Anyone also writing exams? I wish you all the best x. Have a good weekend guys.

SCHOOL GIRL.

Hey guys! How are you all doing? It has been a while right? I was going to upload these pictures last week as they are a week old but the happenings in the world (especially Nigeria) have been making me really sad. I also have exams soon (a week from now), I will try updating the blog as often as I can this period. This is what I wore to the library with Oroma last week, hope you like it. Talk soon xx

MAMA'S SHIRT

You know those days when you are tired and feeling uninspired or better still, those days when you haven't done your laundry, an oversize white shirt is always a good option. This shirt used to be my mum's but I "borrowed" and never returned it.

SO BLOGGER!!

Hat- River Island//Top- H&M//Skirt- H&M// Shoes- New Look//Bag- Primark

Hi guys! Happy Easter!! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. So I did my huge laundry sometime this week and I decided to clear out my wardrobe and have a little spring cleaning. While I was cleaning I found this hat that I bought this time last year and never wore (it still had the tag on), I immediately put that in the recycling pile. I also put this top and skirt in the recycling pile, then I decided to wear them one more time and I liked the way they turned out (I might even keep them). When I looked in the mirror, I was like "this outfit is so blogger!!"

MUSINGS | LIFE AS IT IS

Hi guys!! How has everyone been? I haven't been the best at blogging lately, at least that is how I currently feel. Oh happy new month! I hope everyone had a good April Fools Day, lol, that day is literally a joke. I completely forgot about April Fools, I have never been good at pranking people, my 6yr old sister doesn't even fall for my pranks. This isn't an outfit post, so if you are not interested in words, you might want to stop reading here.

MUSIC DAYS | TEMI DOLLFACE- PATA PATA

I have been singing this song all day long, I have no idea why and I am sure I haven't heard it in the past week, until about an hour ago when I finally decided to listen to it. This is one catchy song that you learn the lyrics fast and the video is quite funny. I love her facial expressions, the costumes and the dancers, maybe I love the video more than the actual song. If you haven't heard this song, please listen to it, you will have a good laugh. I hope everyone is having a fab week. Talk soon xx.

METALLIC DRESS

Hey guys!!! How has everyone been? I feel like I have been away for more than a week. You know how I said I was going to have an amazing week last Monday, yes guys, I did have a great week. I am now into speaking life into every situation and I feel like the air around me is getting lighter, phew!

Since I got my hair done about two weeks ago, I have been feeling like a "plain Jane" with my outfit choices, I have felt the need to keep the clothes "simple", I don't know why. While I was scrolling through tumblr sometime last week, I saw a dress that reminded me of this one that my dad got me two years ago, I actually thought I lost it or one of my sisters took it, when I found it in my wardrobe, I was so excited. I decided to wear this dress to church yesterday morning and I also decided to work with gold accents for this outfit. I quite like the way it turned out with the pink lips and all, what do you think?

BLUE PRINTS

Happy Monday guys!!! I am excited and expectant for this new week, I don't know what it is going to bring but I believe it is going to be a successful week for me. I wore this outfit to church yesterday, I was itching to sew something new last week but I was so busy, I decided to change the broken zip in this skirt and wear it. I made so many mistakes when I was sewing this outfit back in September, from cutting the fabric to sewing it, so I have never really worn the whole outfit. I guess this is just to say "A mistake doesn't always mean it is over, sometimes you just learn from it". I wish you guys a successful week like I am going to have. Talk soon xx.

MUSIC DAYS

I believe your eyes and ears are windows to your soul, what you listen to eventually becomes what you meditate on, which is what you act on. I have always loved Asa, my cousin used to listen to her a lot when I was younger, I really hated her music at first but as I grew older, I started liking her music, now I am in love.
This is not really an album, as most of the songs here are in her other albums but I really like the versions on here. My love for Asa was rekindled when I listened to this album. This is what I am currently listening to on Spotify, you could buy it on iTunes if you want or open a free spotify account. What songs do you guys listen to?

FOLDED SARONG TROUSERS

I love the versatility of clothes, I could never wear something once and that's all except it fits badly or it is uncomfortable. Everything in this post has been worn more than once on here, the trousers have been worn here and here while the top has been worn here and here. Whenever I wear these glasses and these pants, I feel some certain kind of way that I can't really describe. It is a really good feeling though.

TARTAN DRESS.

Sometimes, actually most times, simple does it. I am so glad that the weather is transitioning to spring already, my joy knows no bounds!! Phew!!! I think I have seen the worst of the Welsh rain this winter, I know it will continue to rain at least twice a week even in the summer but that is better than 21 hours 6 days a week. It even rained just before I took these pictures.

About two Saturdays ago, I was going through my wardrobe trying to find a plain warm weather dress that isn't black and there was none, so I decided to sew one. I would have bought one but I guess I missed using my sewing machine, I don't even remember ever mentioning that I like sewing here. Well, now you know.

The dress turned out quite well and I decided to compliment the red on the dress by wearing red shoes, I am glad the sun is out but I squint my eyes too much to not shield them from the sun. I just decided to play everything simple, like I always do. I love the way my skin is glowing in these pictures, I guess that answers my boyfriend's question about the coconut cream. Speak soon guys xx

RAIN AND SMILES.

It never stops raining here, I have to watch the weather like a predator watches a prey to take pictures most times. My schedule has gotten quite busy recently, too busy to weather watch. I had no clue that it was raining today, I stepped out and voila!! rain!! lol, I wasn't that excited when I saw that it was raining. I didn't let the rain get in my way though, I was a woman on a mission. I wore this outfit to church a few weeks ago and I decided to take shots today. I have been thinking of giving this blog makeover, I might do that pretty soon. I hope everyone has had a great week so far. Oh I almost forgot to mention, I was featured on 360nobs.com earlier this week, click here to see more of that. Thanks again to the style editor Oluwadunni. Speak soon guys.
xx

TWEED JACKET

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! How has your week been going? Here is another uni day post, I really spend most of my time here and the weather has not been encouraging for the past weekends. These uni posts might be more frequent because I think I like taking a conscious note of what I wear to uni, I normally don't. The British weather is really weird, you can have all four seasons in one day, while I was taking these pictures, it was between spring and summer. Enjoy the rest of your week guys, speak soon xx.

ONE YEAR!!!

Hey everyone!!! So today is the big day for my blog, I am so happy, I wasn't even this excited on my birthday. I even bought a cake! on my last birthday, I forgot to buy a cake, so you can imagine my excitement today. I guess this is the point where I tell you about all my achievements with this blog in the past year, like every other blogger but I am not about to do that.

This time last year, I decided to publish my first post, I didn't think anyone was going to read it and I was too scared to share it with anyone except Joy (my friend and photographer) but I have been doing this for a year now, even though I had so many hiatus. This blog has made me truly see myself for who I am, it has made me notice my weaknesses, strengths, bad and good habits. I am really happy I stuck through it. I hope to see my virtual baby, grow more over time.

Thank God for his grace. Thank you to everyone that has supported this blog over the past year, month, week, day, hour, minute, second. I really appreciate you guys. Thank you to my gorgeous photographer who is also laughing her head off in the picture below. This blog has brought smiles to my face over and over again and below are pictures of me laughing, which by the way are very rare.  I celebrated last night with my friends, Judy and Taffy. I was too busy eating the whole night, I didn't even take any pictures.
xx

TYPICAL SCHOOL DAY

Hey lovelies!! how have you all been? I missed you like crazy, I have been so busy with life. Remember how I said I wasn't really feeling the cold, well I eventually felt it and took ill. Thank God for safe recovery. My engineering duties take up most of my life and I always feel so bad for neglecting my blog, so I have decided to merge my duties together as often as I can because I can't leave one for the other, I was born to be an engineer.

On a typical school day, I am in school from 9am to 5pm (it is really like a job), so I like to dress in many many layers because I can be warm when out and about and also warm when inside, if it gets too warm, I will reduce the layers. This coat is just perfect for me because I like layering (not really, I just don't want to freeze) but I don't want to look bulky and the structure of this coat conceals the layers and gives it a shape, so score! Normally I wear a snood (circle scarf) but I forgot it at home on this particular day, so my neck was freezing the whole time. My hands were also in my pocket the whole time because I didn't have gloves on. Okay this is the longest essay ever!! I'll talk to you guys soon, okay xx.

STYLE CRUSH: SOLANGE KNOWLES

Hey lovelies, how has your week been? better than mine I hope. This post is one that has been sitting in my drafts/brain for so long and I am finally putting it up. Since crushing on boys is too mainstream for me, I choose to crush on people's styles.
This gorgeous woman is one of the people whose style I am totally in love with and I'm sure you can see why. I fell in love with her style about a year ago and I can never get enough, she wears everything beautifully and with such confidence (like she is doing the clothes a favour). I love the way she mixes and matches prints, she is such a pro. I can't get enough!!! How do you feel about her style?

BLACK BASICS.

Black is probably my favourite colour when it comes to clothes, black and gold is also my favourite colour palette because it just works. On this day, I was running late and hadn't thought of what to wear, I also had so much on my mind that what to wear was really the least of my problems. So, I opted for a black tee and black jeans and I wore my favourite black coat, I wore those shoes because they fit in the black and gold palette. I haven't really felt the cold this winter, maybe because I spend most of my time in my apartment but I resume classes on Monday so I might start layering like everyone else.

PRINTED SHIRT

I told you that I would be back soon, here I am. I am learning how to make proper use of my time.
Time is the biggest asset we have, and the time wasted is a wasted opportunity to do something useful.
The problem is not how much time we have, but rather, how effectively we use it.

I have only just a minute, only 60 seconds in it,
Forced upon me- can't refuse it,
Didn't seek it, didn't choose it,
But it is up to me to use it.
I must suffer if I lose it,
Give account if I abuse it,
Just a tiny little minute- but eternity is in it.

Talk soon xx.

2014!!!

Happy New Year Folks!!! I hope everyone has had a lovely start to 2014, I just finished my exam and I'm back (lol). This is not an outfit post but that is a picture of me in my Nigerian native wear, that I wore last October. I am sure many of us have expectations for this year, I for one have many!! One of which is to be more committed to my little blog (haha, I don't have commitment issues). When I started this blog, I didn't really know what I was going to do with it or what I was doing, all I wanted was to try my hand at something and maybe develop a hobby. As time went on, I became fashion inclined (it wasn't really my thing at first) and I honestly like it but I always have that feeling of inadequacy that plagues me but I am set out to conquer that feeling because I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

This year I am going by "JUST DO IT", I will not overthink things and convince myself not to do what I want to do, I will be a doer (well, I have kind of started, I mean I am telling you guys this). I will be posting more on this blog (yes!! hold me to that) not all fashion related posts though but things that I love and want to share. I hope you guys stick around to see things grow.

By the way, you guys should like my facebook page and follow me on bloglovin just to keep up with the blog.  I wish everyone the best this year, see you real soon xx.
